What to expect

  • You make every application from your own account and pay every official fee (school, IRCC, test centre) directly to the organisation that charges it.
  • We never ask for passwords, and the website never collects passports, ID numbers or financial documents.
  • Study-permit and other immigration advice comes only from a licensed professional (an RCIC, a lawyer or a Quebec notary).
  • If a school pays Nexa for your enrolment, we tell you in writing before you choose.

Client verification requiredDoes Nexa ever submit school applications on a student's behalf, for example through a partner portal? If yes, say so and get written consent each time. · Name and Law Society of BC member number of the lawyer on Nexa's team. · Commission arrangements.

What our help costs

Client verification requiredClient to supply: fee structure

We explain it in writing before you decide. School, test and government fees are always paid by you, directly. Who pays Nexa?

How we choose colleges for you

  • We start from your brief: what you want to study, your budget, where you want to live and when you want to start.
  • Before you apply, we check the school is a Designated Learning Institution.
  • For B.C. private colleges, we also check the school's certification on the PTIRU directory.
  • We tell you if a school is public or private, and what that changes.
  • We compare tuition and total costs for the schools on your shortlist, using each school's published fees.
  • Your shortlist includes schools that don't pay us, and we explain why each school is on it.

Client verification requiredconfirm practice: shortlist includes non-paying schools

Colleges we work with

We'll list schools here only once we have a written agreement with them and their written permission to name them. Until then, this space stays empty on purpose.

Client verification requiredschools with a written agreement + written permission to name them / use their logo

What we never do

  • Promise you admission. The school decides.
  • Promise you a study permit. IRCC decides.
  • Quote success rates or processing times.
  • Sell you a place or a letter of acceptance. Only the school issues it.
  • Take your tuition. You pay the school directly.

Who pays us

Some schools pay Nexa a commission when a student we've helped enrols. It doesn't change what you pay the school. We'll tell you in writing which schools pay us before you choose.

After you arrive: work and stay

The short version, from IRCC’s own pages. Rules change, so open each page before you decide anything.

  1. Working while you study

Eligible full-time students can usually work up to 24 hours a week off campus during classes, and more during scheduled breaks (IRCC, checked 20 Oct 2026). Conditions apply. Work income can't count towards your proof of funds.

IRCC: Work off campus (opens official site)Checked 20 Oct 2026Page updated 15 Apr 2026

  2. Co-op and internships

Since April 1, 2026, eligible students don't need a separate permit for required co-op placements (IRCC). Paid placements depend on the programme and employer.

    IRCC: Co-op work permit notice (April 2026) (opens official site)Checked 20 Oct 2026Page updated 9 Apr 2026

  3. After you graduate

Some programmes may lead to a post-graduation work permit. It depends on the school, programme, field of study and language test results, and IRCC decides. Check IRCC's PGWP pages before you enrol.

IRCC: PGWP eligibility (opens official site)Checked 20 Oct 2026Page updated 24 Jun 2026

  4. How long a PGWP lasts

Programme of 8 months to under 2 years: a PGWP the same length as the programme. Programme of 2 years or more: 3 years. Master's: a 3-year PGWP is possible even if the programme was shorter than 2 years. You get one PGWP in your lifetime, and you apply within 180 days.

  5. Changing school after you arrive

Changing to a new post-secondary school needs a new study permit and usually a new PAL. We can help with the school side; the permit goes to a licensed professional.
